At the genetics lab we were informed … actually they thought us about meiosis and well after the basics the techer told us something amazing … at least for me it is amazing!
In profasis there is an intracromosomial switch if i may call it that or just crossing-over were cromosomes exchange genetic material and in metaphasis one there is an intercromosomial switch were cromosomes align at the ecuator in paralel pairs so there will be gentic variety.
Anyway the variety is great, that was what i thought was awesome!!!
Combinations:
no 2 to the power n, n = haploid chromosome in humans
2 to the power 23 = 8.388.608
4 to the power 23 = 70.368.744.000.000
This numbers are for just one pair of cromosomes, but all animals have more than 1 pair so you can see why no animal can be the same … and as the techer said no human can be the same, not even twins.
